On/Off throttle problem
Hello I write from Italy and a few months ago I have a trx 850.
My problem is that the bike has a problem in the opening of gas, a strong on-off which is very annoying.
The bike has 47,000 km and totally original, good preserved.
Thank you all

Re: On/Off throttle problem
Welcome Fabio
Correct chain tension and correct throttle cable play would be my suggestion.

Re: On/Off throttle problem
Spend $200 and buy 2 keyster carburettor rebuild kits, air cut off valve kit and the plastic air cut off valve cover. It's the round white plastic cover on the side of the carburettor.
The carburettors will need a new kit every 30,000 km due to down draught nature of the carburettor.
The air cut out valve kit and cover should be good for another 15 years.
80% of TRX tuning issues are usually carburettor related.

Re: On/Off throttle problem
Personally I would stick with Kedo standard kit.
Also look at IGNITECH programable ignition as you'll find good gains and makes for a much more rideable bike especially under 4000rpm.

Re: On/Off throttle problem
Ignition plugs straight in with adaptor loom you also buy from IGNITECH .
Ignition is already programmed for the TRX-TDM 850.
You can just plug it in and ride.
Throttle position sensor needs to be turned on and calibrated using the program disc supplied for optimum performance. Some people don't do this as they are already happy with improvement but makes the bike more responsive when turned on.
Very simple and easy to do. You will need a RS232 lead to plug into the ignition and to your laptop computer too.

Re: On/Off throttle problem
thanks a lot...for the moment rebuild all with new kit.
then I could also opt for a ignitech ...but ...just plug it under the seat on the original control unit?

Re: On/Off throttle problem
Yes, when you buy just remember to order TCIP4 programable ignition plus adaptor lead to plug into TRX connectors on wiring loom.
