TDM900

Post by Kenny » Mon Sep 05, 2016 10:27 pm

Ok I know its been banded about a bit but is the TDM900 crank better than the rex's. If so can it be persuaded to fit the TRX cases?
My bike maybe a dinosaur but it still has some bite & has a mighty roar.

Sometimes I wake up grumpy ........ but usually I let her sleep in

There's no real fault with the TRX crank so there is no real gain.
Any crank damage is usually from another failure , rods , bearing & oil pressure go hand in hand or cam seizure.
Something to note on cam damage. The bearing face on 1 inlet is the common face that wears due to the nature of the oil galley. The exhaust cam has a bleed so oil finds its way pretty fast to feed the face.
The inlet has like an air lock in a way and takes a lot longer to finally get a constant feed of oil.
Hence why you'll always see scuffing on the cylinder 1 inlet cam bearing face.
You can get around this by drilling into the inlet galley and put a bolt Inplace just like the exhaust oil bleed.

If you access a dismantled 900 snavle the 6 speed selector drum and forks...
