Hi,
I have an fzr400r twin projector unit with the standard bulbs, is it ok to connect it straight onto my trx loom, or does it need a relay as it has 2 bulbs? Any advice would be much appreciated.

I run one wired directly to the existing connector.
Never had an issue with it.

Many thanks, I'd hoped to do just that mate, by soldering a tail light plug into the loom, it will fit the new lamps connector, then if I need to swop back to the original I can, I imagine using the original lower output bulbs doesn't put any extra strain on the system? :D

I've made a small loom with spade terminals to fit into the headlight socket, hasn't failed me yet.
I ran a 100W globe in the original headlight in the vain attempt to get better night vision, and it had no detrimental affect on the wiring, I'm not concerned about the twin globes.
Most wiring is able to handle 10 amps at 12v, it's way overspec'd but if it was made to barely cope then it would break from vibration.

My FZR400 headlamp came with the original loom stub, which wires both bulbs into one terminal socket. I de-pinned the terminal and replaced it with an H4/7 (forget which) so I could plug it straight into the original TRX loom, no problem.
