Will the TDM head fit ?
Due to a schoolboy error when adjusting valve clearances i may need a different head. Iv`e been looking and Rex heads appear to be scarce but a TDM head is currently for sale.
So will it fit on standard Rex barrels. I may also need new cams so may as well have some lumpier ones whilst i`m at it.
Failing that, has someone got one tucked under their bench ?
Its all to do with trusting an old torque rench would work at 10Nm. Turns out it would`nt !!
Cheers

Re: Will the TDM head fit ?
Ouch, not that its of any help at all but maybe a 1/4" torque wrench would be a sound investment too, bought one for bicycle servicing (where everything is 6-12Nm). Must be the season for it, Mav is in a similar state. As you say atleast now you get to strip the engine and play with it; lumpier cams, might as well up the comp a bit, bore it out a bit...

The TDM head doesn't have the head to frame mounts like the trx has.

Re: Will the TDM head fit ?
I saw the TDM head and that's why I asked the question. So I will have to look at getting this one repaired. I haven't stripped it yet so don't know the extent of the damage and I'm sure any damage will just polish out
I now have a 1/4 drive torque wrench but it's a bit late now....
So no one has a gas flowed big valve head for sale then ?
Cheers anyway guys, best get the spanner out and have a look.

Re: Will the TDM head fit ?
Remember killer was fitting a TDM 900 motor into a trx.
Different generation motor.
Trx uses an 850 TDM generation motor with a few changes internally.
Have look at a photo of a TDM 850 and looks just like a trx motor with the same head mount..
