'04 R6 forks
Hi Guys,
Just noticed a set of '04 R6 forks on Oz ebay with tricked up internals. Don't suppose these are an easy swap to the TRX i.e just bolt straight in? Anyone know?
Cheers
Troy

Hi troy. you can pretty much fit most fronts to the venerable Rex...example to the r6 ...you will ALWAYS use the origional TRX steering stem..[pressed out of the lower TRX tripple clamp]..thats what has the bearing spaceing for the TRX steering head..xxr55 wrote:Hi Guys,

So you would need to have a trx steering stem...and the lower tripple of the r6 and have an engineering shop to make it a tight pressed fiT.....early r1 conversions were popular once, the RED one on the forum top is one ... but the r1 lower tripple was a frack larger...engineering...in short..troy, if yu can mate the lower tripple of the whatever..then you can fit the top, and then the shocks and then the wheel..and so on
Big hint is to buy the lot off the donor machine...wheels discs calipers ect.
The ONLY easily matched over is the YZF 750..all you will need is a mechanics bearing press.

Re: '04 R6 forks
Cheers Alex, I don't want to go to any great lengths. As the R6 forks I was looking at are 'right way up' not 'up side down', I was sort of hoping they might just go straight into the TRX triple clamps, was also hoping the TRX wheel, discs etc would go straight on. I guess plenty of others would have done this if that was the case. I'll probably just look at freshening up the standard forks.

Yeah those ones, sort of just thinking over options. I want black forks as well and was thinking these could be a possibility.

Re: '04 R6 forks
R6 forks are 43mm and won't fit the TRX (41mm) yokes unless you have them bored out. YZF600 Thundercat (41mm) forks will fit the TRX yokes using a couple of new spacers and all the other TRX stuff.Con Rod wrote:these ones?

Don't confuse the Thundercat (YZF600, lardy looking thing) with the R6 (YZF600R)!

Thanks Guys, think i'll just look at freshening up the standard forks. Much less stress on the bank balance too.
