YZF front end..

Post by trixynut » Wed May 07, 2008 3:27 pm

Ok, anyone with one of these fitted to their 'Rex, do you know:

1. The correct oil capacity for each fork leg. I think it's 380 ml but ... ?

2. Is the speedo drive the same as on the TRX? Looks the same from a visual inspection but ... ?

Cheers,

Dave.

I think the wheel spindle may be a larger diameter, Honk should be able to advise.

Well the part numbers are different:

YZF is 4FM-25190-00
TRX is 4HM-25190-10

The bearings and oil seals also differ.

Looks like both spindles are 17mm, but 47mm dia on the YZF and 40mm on the TRX, so the YZF speedo drive may wel be a larger diameter but otherwise the same.

Hagon suggest a fork oil level of 120mm. Probably a good starting point. Volume is pretty meaningless.

Fork oil capacity = 469cc (16.5 imp oz) or 464cc (16.3 Imp oz) for a YZF750SP.... Yamaha's Workshop manual says oil level to be 93mm from the top of the outer tube with inner tube and damper rod fully compressed (and no springs fitted)

Speedo drives for YZF and TRX are not the same. Use the YZF one...
