It seems the owner was running the bike without cans, maybe he didn't ride it there like that (there are marks on the link pipes to indicate there are some cans fitted at some time) but possibly he was just using it like this for evening entertainment.

I saw this at the week-end. Actually the only TRX I saw all week-end.

Man, those crazy frenchies!
...or someone's nicked them.
Never been to Le Mans, but at Assen a few years back, NOISE was definitely the thing! A group of mad Italians brought in a 250 engine (no bike, just the engine and a can of fuel) with megaphones instead of an exhaust system, drained the oil, wired open the throttle and left it running at full chat until it melted: the noise was EXTREME!
How was the trip then Burty, apart from wet?
Dave.

Engines on trailers are commonplace.
Rev them to the limiter so you get that staccato type rhythm, then hit the kill switch occasionally. No engine on a trailer? No problem, do it with your bike.
Trip down took a bit longer than intended owing to problems with starting one bike and the alarm misbehaving on my own. Throw in a couple of wrong turns (resolved pretty quickly) and a session following a group of British bikers that didn't seem to want to overtake anything, but were intent on filling the entire road so you couldn't easily get past - ignorant Twits.
Trip back was wet but awesome.
Racing was excellent, atmosphere in the stands was brilliant, especially with the Spanish fans.
All in all a fab week-end really, only spoiled a little by the rain. I was looking forward to a dry ride-out after the race but that never happened.
