Factory Pro Emulsion kits

Post by Wombat » Fri Apr 13, 2007 10:33 am

Carb recalibration kit (jet kit) Part number# CRB-Y85-1.1-Ti Retail $143.00, or emulsion tubes Part number# CRZ-EMU-100120k Retail $38.00each , or a jet kit with emulsion tubes Part number# CRB-Y85-1.1-TNJ retail $192.00 ?? (prices from Wolf Racing, Brisbane)

Alright, which one do I buy? I take it probably the best value one would be the last one, the jet kit w/- emulsion tubes. BTW does anyone know how much the genuine Yamaha ones are?

Yep, sure did. Bought the last kit - emulsion tubes and jet recalibration kit.
Got the shop to put them in  (electrics and carburation are black arts to me). Got it back and it was running too lean. Coughing on cold start up, hesitation on take off and a huge flat spot between 3 - 4000 rpm. Took it back and complained and they fiddled with it again. Its running a bit richer and is much better. Still has a slight stutter on cold start up (my brother who's a mechanic but unfortunately lives in Victoria said it might be a float level issue or something to do with the choke start up circuit) but it accelerates cleanly all the way thru the rev range and my mileage per tank has improved no end. The stutter is only on cold start up with choke and I can live with that. Eventually gonna get a set of FCRs.
