love your work flapper

and keep the pics comming

i do like the rear sets you have there, but cant seem to find them on e-bay, would the trader have an e-bay store or name ?

Well guys, a lazy Saturday afternoon, a few cold beers on hand and cranked up a bit of BLUES music in the garage, and then, I thought I will throw the frame on , lay the wiring loom and install my cheap Chinese POLISHED

ebay rad.

Well after this little effort I am proud to admit, I stood back with a beer in one hand ,and the end of my willie in the other, as I have to confess I did feel a bit of a twinge in the groin!!!

you seem the type to be a lateral thinker stank...how would a set of stainless spoked and anodised alloy rims do for the project...i hvent heard of THAT done yet....!

Alex there is a guy here in Aust that makes "spoke flanges" for speedway hubs. If you just bought the flanges you could turn down the genuine TRX hubs to bolt a set of these on. Here is his ebay item number(150625830984), just look at his pictures in that item he has made(complete with dimensions). I suppose it is a bit of cost and time, but if you want the badly enough it would be achievable. Me,, well I will be going the polished painted standard rims.

But on the other hand you could send this guy two TRX rims and get him to make the hubs from scratch. Looks like he knows his stuff.

Chinese CNC work but all the right, quality materials used. You simply order those with the `nearest` hole spacing for the mountings and adapt them to fit.

thanks people, i found them, just worked out how to use the e-bay search better

on a side note flapper, i cant believe you have gone to all that work and attention to detail and you are going to use stock wheels

the rest of the bike will look stunning, but you have to have spoked wheels

yes i do understand the cost but it looks like you have spent small fortune already,.............just my 2c anyway

In regards to the spoke wheel thing I have been looking for something to do this for about a year and I keep coming up with the problem of the spokes hitting the calipers on the front. You could go for some calipers off an 650xv cruiser which only has pistons on the outside but your stopping power would be reduced. Not a good idea if you want to ride the thing. If any one has an idea on this I can make them but would not be cheap unless I had quite a few orders. I would love to try some tenere wheels I think they would go close.

I`ve also looked closely at the latest Tenere wheels, need to get amongst one with a tape measure one of these days.

Good point Mr Twig, there is very little room between calipers for spokes, 40mm to be exact, and that does not take into account any spoke flex at speed,,,,,,,,,,, ohhh that could be ugly!!

Re spoke wheels,
The Triumph Thunderbird Sport ( the 3 cylinder one ) has twin disc's with spoked wheel's. Might be worth running a tape measure over and checking the calipers out ?

Yamaha XS650 hubs could be the way to go but they are not easy to come by, here`s a special with GSXR forks and modern four pots fitted.

Slid the forks in and mounted the headlight shell. Now for all the wiring fun.... They say size does count, just check out my Horn:)
