The front

A I will mount an R1 front the front bracket has had to be made new.
Bolting points to the frame.

And the complete part with mirror mounts and the Tacho mounting plate.

Also the side parts as to be made new.
Connecting the frame to the oil cooler and the frame to the Fearing mounting point.

First parts connected with quick glue and than welded at work by a collegue.

Left and Right part, Dusz lock for the Fearing.

I do admire you for all time, effort and money put into this build. Specially when it would a lot easier and maybe cheaper to buy an R1 or R6.

Cheaper may be if its an older R1 or R6 but where is the fun in riding a standard motorcycle.
Still all is done within reasonable budget, its the hours that count.
Knowing my self now that I will end up Changing the bike I have.

And I do like the scream of a 4 cylinder but I love the grunt of a twin

I really admire the quality of the brackets and fixings you have fabricated, top marks, looks really professional.

Just as a purely personal aesthetic preference, I reckon the later 2nd R1 tail would look better

Also why not push the boat out a bit on the paint job?

Just suggestions - I reckon it will look stunning anyway!

I think if you managed to make this conversion into a kit form (especially the front end) you would sell heaps of them!

Okay

Had to do a bit of playing in the Dutch sand with the GS during easter.

But
Frame left engine and house.

To the blasters and to powdercoating.

Back on the engine.

Now it looks like this in my TRX room.

And found a new home here.

Yes I am wanting to ride the bike, the weather being good all the time makes me wanting to get it done.

And
Work at the painters is also done.
Looks off-white bit it is pearl white, close to Yamaha white

So now all is in house it was time to give some GAZZZ.

Time for some fresh air.

First fire-up after 7 months.
After filling the Carbs it started 10sec later

Than time for the rest of the parts.

And first ride.

Still some minor things to do but I'm happy with the result.
