Re: Lunchbreak special!!
There is another alternative guys that requires no welding. The plates on the left are steel and the ones on the right are alluminium. The only issues with these is getting thin enough nuts in behind the lower mount so that it clears the swingarm. But they work quite well.

Yes your correct they're mild steel, I'd have loved to have machined them out of a chunk of billet, and that was my intention but could'nt find any of the right size in the stores at workG Beale wrote:I thought that but there's something about the finish that says "chrome wheel paint" or something similar perhaps ? Not sure I'd be brave enough to make 'em out of ally but then I'm a pussy when it comes to stuff like this.Greg wrote:Looks like alloy to me ...Greg

Come on Jimiboy put us out of our misery would you !
The bulk of them i machined out of a chunk of bright angle, then made up the thredded lugs and tagged them on with a stick(arc) welder having clamped'em up at the right distance appart.
I thought about making a flat plate style but didn't want to have to squeeze a nut in behind the frame, so I opted for off-set threaded lugs instead. Then a quick coat of primer and some silver enamel.
P.O.P!

I'm with you on making them from angle with the lugs attached. So much so I think I'll have a go myself very soon. Better do mine slightly different to yours or you'll want royalties !

Do they flex around when you are using your feet cornering?
