Hardtail TRX project
Hello everyone, this is my first post and I hope you can help. My new project is going to be a bobber,I've looked for a donor bike and decided on a TRX 850. Has anyone here built a TRX 850 bobber, seen one or know of any obvious problems. I want to modify the original frame to a hardtail, it would be something different from all the others being built now. Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: Hardtail TRX project
If you want a Yammy bobber, go the Virago... yeah the TRX would be different alright (!), but I just don't reckon it works well for the concept. The engine & frame configuration is nowhere near. Lotta, lotta work; for a controversial result really.

Saw an effort about six months ago, many would remember it on the UK e-bay...a really good effort, but ended up sold for parts.

Oh well in hindsight maybe not the best place to seek advice
I am going to give it a go and will post progress on here. If I get a " Thats not to bad." off members of the forum that'll be good enough for me. Let the abuse begin.

Re: Hardtail TRX project
Well some Aussie decided to build a TRX motor into some sort of 4-wheel buggy a while ago (now that is taking the p*ss) , and back in the 50's (?) wasn't there a whole lot of Manx Norton's used in single cylinder 'Formula 500' race cars ???. That was a terrible use of a classic motor in hindsight.
All I can say is ... if you are determined to use the TRX for your hardtail project please make it a good one. OK ?

(and make sure it's LOUD !!)

Rubber side down, Red side up is my preferred riding style.

Go for it Magoo, look at a member `funny machine`s take on a TRX. Go to the members list, click on his name and then search his posts
