I'll keep an eye on it. Maybe do a half day if they have a slot. They will often do that if you just turn up at lunch time.
Bedford is a good one, it is 2.8 miles nice and twisty, has a 1km straight so you can give the big bikes a bit of a head start before catching them in the twisties!

NEWSFLASH....... Poms find a use for soap after all.coxylaad wrote:- as we all stood round scratching out heads our very own Projection Components Michaela stepped forward and suggested I go get a bar of soap and fill the hole with it, as its one of the few things that petrol does not attack. so long story short I borrowed a bar of soap from the bog, caked it round the affected area and completed the nights riding. The soap repair is still in place now and its still not leaking! nice one dude I think everyone was amazed!![]()
(sorry couldn't resist that)

Re: The TRX900 Project kicks off
Excellent thread, and great to see you are making progress with the set up. Given you are doing track riding, are you typically riding at the same venue? If so a cable tie on the fork leg would allow you to really fine tune your sag set up. You wont need to leave as much "spare" travel given you know you are not going to find a random pothole to bottom out on, as you might on the road
Keep the pics and reports comming

Re: The TRX900 Project kicks off
Small update:
Some final alterations to my custom exhaust system. I have had the link pipe cut in under the bike as early as possible to get me as much ground clearance as possible. I have ground the exhaust down a couple of times now and I would rather it didn't happen!

Whilst I was there I got my welder man to braze up the pin hole in my fuel tank. Job done, however I will still be carrying with me a bar of the finest soap just incase any repair work is ever required

Cadwell this coming Friday and think that will be it for the track days for this year. I have just read an article on the web that scientists are predicting the worst winter for a decade just round the corner. They have been wrong before however!

Re: The TRX900 Project kicks off
Picked my ears up to you haveing a fuel leak there Coxy, but then realised you've done a conversion for the in tank fuel pump for the TDM900 motor and that's why there was a leak...
For the future...and not wanting you to be out of favour with your welder..we in the auto repair game have brass MIG welder s these days..it's the same result as the OXY weld but with the MIG, it's a lot less heat and a better end result. and a six pack is a valid currency.
And, yes there IS an OXY set in my home garage...old school.
Was the exhaust modded,... one of the Projection two into one systems ?,..being the end result photo, looks very similar.
NO RAIN down under for almost a MONTH now...

yes its a projection components set of headers, and very nice they are too. I had to change the link pipe to suit my more unorthodox exhaust setup.
Just checking the weather and so far Friday at cadwell is a none rain day with a potential high of 16 degrees!!! comon!!!!

Re: The TRX900 Project kicks off
Had a good day at bedford. They didnt have many fast group riders so they combined fast and inters so i was in that group. They made the sessions half hour so did 3 hours tracktime, and i missed the last session cos i was knackered. Had wets on all day as it was either damp or wet, but had a great time, even got past a few.
Still not decided yet on friday, got a few things to sort out on bike.
Dave
PS how many trx's are booked for friday??
