As far as we know it will go straight in.

We have also discovered that our Yamaha TDM 900 (£549 plus VAT) clutch fits a load more bikes than we thought.

In addition to the TDM 850/900 model range of bikes this clutch will also fit as follows:
1987 > FZ750
1987-88 Genesis FZR-750 and 1000
1989-90 Exup FZR1000
1989-90 FZR750 OW01
1991-96 FZR1000
All YZF750
All YZF1000 THUNDERACE
And more than likely the FZ750 1985> 1987. The basket while taking the same plates etc was rubber mounted. It should however just drop in.

Interesting to hear from Gix that he rates the performance of these units so highly. May be a winter mod for me later this year.
Now that is interesting! :o
But does it mean the clutch of a TDM900 is the same as a TRX and all other Yamaha bikes mentioned above? That would be great yet hard to believe if I may say so. :?:

Not directly the same perhaps, the stock clutches for those models might not be identical but Sigma`s slipper clutch fits all those they list.
Remember the differences might be in the number of plates or overall basket diameter.
Obviously `according to Sigma`, the fixing and actuating mechanism must be the same or very similar and remember the slipper clutch will likely be much stronger than any of the standard clutch assemblies.

Never had them in the days of RD/TZ motors - ya just didn't fully engage the clutch on downchanges - also saved the engine nipping up on the overrun.........maybe I'm an old fart but I could by a lot of tracktime/fuel for £600!

Edit, I am an old fart.........
That's cos they are 2 smokes which have little or no engine braking...no slipper needed
Totally different way of riding and entering corners on a two stroke
My first ride on a TRX was at a Cadwell Yamaha race school and I shit a brick the first time knocking it down to first, into a hairpin, back wheel locked solid, then skipped it's way to the apex..4 cylinder bikes didn't do that.
A slipper clutch eradicates that. You can fine tune your clutch release by hand to emulate a slipper but that has you thinking about other things than your corner entry and you never know whether you have got it just right until it's too late.
Stick a slipper in (Sigma are good too) and you can brake later, throw it in and dump the clutch and the bike will remain totally stable at the rear.
I've seen a few bikes go 'pop' though as guys new to them think they can shift from flat chat 4th to 1st and the clutch will sort it...it won't.
You can change spring rates to alter the amount of engine braking you want....... motocrossers hardly have any, supermoto have a fair bit to break traction and back in.
Having an ebay garage clear out soon so the funds will be heading to Sigma, methinks.. better investment for rideability than FCR's

Yeah, I'll go along with all that gix - much the same as ABS/ESP etc all add to driving aids/"pleasure".
Hopefully BMW won't invent a reversing aid for bikes like Ford have for the humble Focus ;-)

Have received further comment from Neil Spalding at Sigma indicating that not having actually fitted the TDM900 unit to a TRX, he will supply and refund if there are any issues with compatability (as long as it's returned in unused condition).

I'm going to get one and fit it this winter for next seasons track day use. Gotta spend my hard earned cash on something!

Interesting, follows along the lines of, if you want to go faster sort out the brakes and handling first,.....

Hi, I bought one for my bike last week and it works good as far as I can tell (I haven't tried it on a trackday yet) ,there is a strange "klik" in the lever when shifting down but I found out that should be the case (after taking it appart to see what was wrong ) ,
