Had a look at some magazines that reviewed the TRX when it was launched - seems about 77 at the back wheel is about average. I believe Yamaha claimed 82 at the crank.

Agree with Hans that actual figures are irrelevant (although very nice when they reach triple figures  ) and that the only useful information that can be taken is from gains made by improvements using the same dyno.

I bet if I pulled a gun on my dyno man, I could get triple digits too!

I reckon there's a lot of pish talked about dyno figures and no two are the same therefore all they're good for is doing back to back runs to evaluate any improvements and to impress non mechanically minded mates in pubs.

I know of one fecker/faker who uses a little bit of choke on the first run to richen up and soften the power curve then does the second run to impress the poor sucker handing over his hard earned dough!

For the record - I bought my 900 TDM from a guy who spent over a couple of thousand £££ with TTS to achieve 88 bhp at the wheel, enough to shove the barn door to a genuine 141 GPS indicated MPH. Whether they are true horses is anyones guess but it does impress some guys in the pub

I was almost agreeing with that until I saw the phrase genuine and GPS mph in close proximity

By the way, if you really do know someone who fakes dyno readings, please name and shame them so we can avoid them.

Cheers

Well d'ya want me to put genuine speedo 141 reading???

The fecker's no longer trading but used to be in a big dealership on Seafield Rd in Edinburgh - justice done methinks!
