mate up to a standard yamaha clutch lever/master cylinder like something off an XJR1300 or something?

then you get the hydraulic clutch which is all but standard. I have to say I love the feel of a hydraulic clutch. cables just feel cheap.

Of course, instead of messing about with the clutch mechanism, you can simply do clutchless changes (all the ups and most of the downs). It may seem counter-intuitive, but clutchless changing is usually kinder to the machinery. (Of course, you must use the clutch from a standing start). Virtually all motocross and enduro riders change clutchlessly, although the practice seems less popular with road bikers.

any word on the "easy clutch" mechanism thing?

i'm ok with the clutch at the moment (found a sweet spot on the normal adjustment that brings down the bite point and makes it easier to use and more progressive, which i like)

but i can imagine on longer journeys, your hand can get the CLAW occasionally from a stiff clutch.

has anyone actually used one of these easy-clutch thingamujigs? they look legit, if perhaps a little clunky.

I have used them on mx and supermoto bikes...
on a two stroke 250 they are great and work really well but the clutch on those are usually pretty light and the easy clutch just helps with the amount of use the clutch gets
I found on a 450/500 4 stroke supermoto they did not make a huge amount of difference but the pull is lighter.
You can get levers that have several cable positions, which does the same thing
