Marty,Standard springs in the front till I see how it handles and the rear is the Fj1300, which is 105 – 160 N/mm. Hope this helps. Anyone know the front fork oil capacity yet?

Don't know the volume of oil but i found that 130mm air gap with the springs out and compressed worked pretty well with the standard gear (many moons ago)

130mm is the std height its way to low for the std springs unless you weigh as much a midgey :) Std springs I'd start at 100mm air gap and be prepared to go higher.

Knocked up a quick Stainless frame filler panel.. What is your opinion??? To run with it,,, or leave it exposed under the seat??

Looks neat maybe a bit slabby! I guess when you get the rest of the body on you will get a bit more of an accurate idea. I do like the white frame and black engine better than the local market ones.

Thanks Marty, after walking around it a few times, my thoughts are not to cover the beautiful Trellis frame and to scrap the filler panel idea. I have removed the frame now and will start to cut it up and get it powder coated, you like the white hey mate, well I am just going to go through the colour chart at the coaters and see what might look better, at this point I am leaning toward silver. The Cams looked just fine once I had a good look around in the top of the engine.. This is how she sits now.

Even the non imports with 0.75's in are way undersprung for most, many bikes of that era are.

I thought it was the view on my PC to start with but before you strip the frame & get it all powder coated after modding - have you noticed that the rear sub-frame has a bend in the l/h side? It might be an optical illusion but the main rail that passes under the riders seat appears to have a 'dip' in it? Hope i'm wrong but not a big deal to sort if done before paying for powder coating.

With regards to the frame colour it depends on what your final paint scheme will be i guess? I tend to think the original frame looks good in a high gloss red but depends on what you'll be bolting around it?

Nothing wrong with your eyes or your PC mate, that rail had a clout at some stage of its life, what surprised me was that it only needed a very mild belt with a piece of wood to straighten it again. Shit the frames at the rear are weak!

I have had several Ducati`s in the past, so I am over the Gloss red scene just at this stage of my life. I just come back from our local powder coater and looked through his colour chart ,, the silver still does do it for me.

Had the frame and tappet cover media blasted today. So now just a final check over before it goes to the Powder coaters.
