Re: Better than a TRX
So if you`ve been to the toolshop to buy one and then get stopped for a random search by the rozzers you`ll say, "oh that thing in my trousers, it`s a pigs dick"?

Re: Better than a TRX
I've been busy with other things, but these cold winter days are perfect to work on my "project".
The alternator has to be tightened to 130 Nm, which is a piece of cake with the right (borrowed...) tools.

The right side of the engine is already done.

Tomorrow I'll start with the cilinderhead; grinding the valves etc.
It actually starts to look like an engine again!

Quality!
No dishwasher for me Tarwetijger, there`s no labour saving devices in my flat.
I just use the bath.

BUT, if I had a dishwasher................................................

Re: Better than a TRX
Yes, I'm married SDN.
But in this household, the dishwasher is my responsibility.

And afterwards I run the washer again with some cleaning stuff, a treatment especially for dishwashers. So no harm done!

Re: Better than a TRX
It's done! I've had some problems with the waterpump, it keeped leaking oil. Now fixed with a different pump. Today was the first ride out and with success! Yes, I was a little bit nervous I have to admit.
It runs fine now, very smooth. Funny to experience the difference with my other TRX (this black one is quite standard while the other one has flatslides & akra headers).

So what has been done?
- Crank fixed
- Exhaust valves replaced and all valves grinded
- Honed cylinders and new piston rings
- new timing chain
- A complete set of seals and gaskets of course
- All fluids refreshed (coolant, brakes, engine oil and forkoil). With the last one being a good opportunity to check if there are really WP springs in: check!
- Calipers cleaned (were all okay)
- New chain (this was actually new, but the rubbers were completely gone)
- Different waterpump...
- And lots of cleaning, scrubbing and polishing!
