Good pic Honk - Looks like an SDR200 - I raced one in the Scottish/Irish 200cc class in 1991 until its crankcases cracked
Wasn't a patch on my previous Spondon RD200 though.....................

Whoo, that was back in the days the world was still in black/white! You must be really old then?dandywarhol wrote:Good pic Honk - Looks like an SDR200 - I raced one in the Scottish/Irish 200cc class in 1991 until its crankcases cracked

Didn't know the SDR. It looks very tiny, in a good way though. Must be very flickable!
Was your helmet on the first pic a Mamola replica? Looks a bit like mine (see previous page in this topic)!

Re: got a track day pic lets see
You're lucky the pics aren't in sepia!
The SDR was a neat handling little bike but it wasn't a patch on the well tuned screaming RD200 motor - it would happily sit at 13,000 rpm for a kilometer at Dundrod in N. Ireland..............(clutch finger delicately poised ready for grabbing )
By the way - I am Randy Mamola

Re: got a track day pic lets see
I told you it is R Mamola......... Davie Paton was my Carrick team mate who raced it the year before me (I'd forgotten he'd raced it) I'm Alan Eccles. Davie's son had been doing well in European Superstock 600 up til last year til money got tight...........

Re: got a track day pic lets see
Season's last trackday Bloody IL4s to be in the way in the curves, and pinning it down the straights. (OK, have to admit, this guy was pretty fast in the curves also...)
Interesting to compare lean angle/body positioning though, we're going the same speed in the curve.
