CV vs FCR vs FCR (no TPS) dyno chart

Post by phuk72 » Sun Oct 29, 2006 1:30 pm

Well here it is then - this through the gears chart is probably the best at high lighting the differences (all runs done since big bore etc so only real difference is carbs and filters).

Green line is standard carbs (airbox, K&N, 144 main jets)

Blue line is with FCR41 (TPS attached, K&N pod filters, 158 main jets)

Red line is as above with TPS simply disconnected

Nice smoother curves! 8)

Just disconnecting the TPS without doing the wiring mod won't set the ignition to full advance thogh, will it?

Yes it does - that's the factory default.

Only problem is that the tacho jumps about

Great result!
Do You have a chart with RPMs and A/F ratio? Would be more useful for comparison...

all this stuff about the tps mod is a revelation to me, i bought a tdm mk2 last year (and have since put a trx lump in it) when i rode it home for the first time the rev counter gave the 7k error code.
which i believe is the tps error code, but the power delivery was much better then than when i got the tps sorted. if this mod does away with the error code on the rev counter and gives me the ignition advance i so crave then you have another convert :D  =D>

I'm sure I've got one somewhere - I'll look when I can get to the garage!
