Tornado cams

Post by Killerwhale » Mon Aug 11, 2008 11:49 am

Thought i saw something on one of the lobes and after a quick rub on the black coat i discovered as in the pic.
Now i´m not skilled enough to say this would mean no problem at all or if it is.
Either way i´m stunned they send these out...they also where a no fit when tourquing down the camholders wich indicates i got another set of cams back and not the one´s originally in this head.

Would you have dared to accept this??
....ohh, did i mention my middle name is Murphy??

Bad bad bad. I'd get on to them straight away.

If You're running 0 valve clearance it's really bad, but otherwise I think You're fine, judging by the position. (if worse comes to worse, just polish the damage, and chack that it's not in a position where the valve has started lifting...)
The damage looks like the cam has been dropped?

You have paid for a job to be done, and should not accept getting something that's worse than when You sent it. Problem is though how to prove it. The damage could very well have happened while the cams were on the way to them... Murphy, right?

Before complaining, have the cams measureed for straightness as well. Couple of seconds job for a proper workshop. Just another thing to add to the complaints then. If the cam has been dropped, it will probably be bent as well...

But why try covering it up with the black coating and shrug shoulders, really bad me thinks...
