those of you with fcr's do you notify your insurance of a modification?

Depends on your insurance company small print, but any mods to your bike from standard should be notified to your insurers as a general rule: anything!

Especially given the significant power gains that they provide

I always have and always will notify my insurance of every single modification I have made to any bike.

OK - you may end up having to find a new insurance company or pay a couple of extra quid but that is way better than the possibility of having a claim declined.
