Standard bike 76-ish bhp
add Cans £100 on ebay + 5bhp (may need new carb jets)
add carbs £350 (second hand, if you can find some!) & filter £40 +10bhp
add TPS wiring mod £free + 1-2bhp
...With a one tooth less front sprocket, it tops out about 140mph, but gets there a whole load quicker!!
I've out-dragged everything on the road on 4 wheels if they wanted to 'have a go' except an Evo, but it was one of those 400bhp jobs!!
Dave.
cheers Dave. i like the sound of 6-7bhp for £100. any recommended cans for that sort of money?
what's the TPS wiring mod?
carbs & K&N's are a bit too pricey for my budget - nice to dream tho...

burty wrote:Mine is geared down one tooth on the front and still gets to 135 no problem. I'll bet that it gets there quicker too. It's essentially standard other than cans and K&N filter.
sounds like this may be an option too

 cheers guys
what cans you got burty?

i don't mind topping out at 135mph, i just want to get there faster. the bike seems a little slow revving from 6-8000rpm. so long as i get to 120/130 before the car does i'm happy to pull in and give them the thumbs up as they come cruising past. what hurt was giving the guy the thumbs up as he pulled in and slowed to let ME past

i disagree that just because you go fast that your license is a ticking timebomb though. i used to take the ZX-9R to silly speeds often and was never once stopped. i just picked the times and places wisely and kept my eyes open. Of course with all the camera vans these days, times are rapidly changing.

also drill out the air box that helps loads.

i wondered if there was one on the market for them, maybe even a TDM one or something? i'm not all that with the welding gear although i know a guy who is. i'll have a look and see if there's a guide to drilling the airbox too (or is it simply a case of drilling a load of holes in

 )
