Coil resistance .......... I cant understand you
- no need to equalise Resisting of this coils with your original one , in last 10 years I never do this - because just no need ! this is not fuel Injectors with diff resistance ,which is important for control and time in Injection system - this is just a Coil so there you no need to do NOTHING
Working on f**king subframe........... ( not ready yet )
invisible connections between frame and subframe...........
hard work
.............. 1 day more and I will........

Re: My TRX850 '98 and history of his EVOLUTION
Isn't 1 of the main reasons they use stick coils now days is because of fuel injection?
Would not your Stick coils provide a weaker spark as they don't need to be as efficient because of the near perfect burn rate fuel delivered via the fuel injection and higher compression ratios?
Dwell time would need to be looked at from you ECU would it not???
Carbies are inefficent compared to fuel injection and one way to help things burn is to use your std 3-5 Ohm coils to acheive a good spark.
A relay is a simple way to get a more efficient spark from your std coils.
The Ignitech ignitions monitor the coils, voltage , RPM and can adjust the dwell accordingly automaticlly but I do not know if the std TRX ECU does this.

.............. this is 50/50 Chance
this Ignition have 2 chance:
1st is to work around 1 min and finish ...................
2nd to accept this 1,4 ohm Coils
After the Test I have 2 options:
Buy a 4 ohm Coils or change end transistors in the Ignition box

Re: My TRX850 '98 and history of his EVOLUTION
Ok bit of fishing around I found out the cbr 600 COP's are an inductive coil(just what you need ) plus they have built in drivers to deal with dwell.
Not all stick coils are the same with some late model motorcycles use a CDI ignition and those COP's won't work in an inductive style set up.
Good work
Look forward to seeing how they perform..

KoKovmaxa, damn good work man! , The exhaust is a work of TIG art and should give a nice midrange torque hike. I also notice your `port` in the pipework, is this for a temperature sensor. The proper engineering over the shock mount is nice to see too.

The CBR600 stick coil mod is common on the VTR1000 firestorm. I have them on my sprint bike, they work a treat.cobbadiggabuddyblooo wrote:Ok bit of fishing around I found out the cbr 600 COP's are an inductive coil(just what you need ) plus they have built in drivers to deal with dwell.
