Hi all, first post!!

Post by TrixieTamer » Wed Feb 05, 2014 6:54 pm

Hi all,

Have been a member for quite some time, never posted.

Thought i'd have a go. I bought a 1996 TRX in may 2013 with 28000 miles on her. shes been to france, belgium, germany and all over the country.
She served me very well until something very nasty happened just before christmas 2013. A brief meeting between piston 1 and all 3 inlet valves rendered her dead.

Bought a second hand TDM 3VD engine for 80 smackers and fitted it, shes going off next week to be professionally wired up. Whilst i am a qualified motorcycle mechanic,
i just havent the time nor patience to create a new loom. Hopefully, when i return from skiing and go pick her up she will be alive again! :D

anyways, enough rambling......

Very interesting! What did you do about the different engine mounts?

Can't wait to hear it 8)

Hey snod!

engine mounts on the barrels are the same as is the main frame to engine.
only mount is different is the exhaust bracket that bolts to the underneath of the engine. doesn't sit true on the tdm cases so i got the trusty grinder out and fabricated it so it would.

EASY AS PIE! mmmmm......PIE!

she sounds great man, i was running remus carbon cut downs when i first got her, fueling was waaaaay bad so i reverted to the original "ten ton" cans and sold the remus,
A guy messaged me and asked to straight swap for full length scorpions which i was looking at buying anyways. sounds the nuts! never heard a more sexual noise in all my life......

just added a crap picture of it when it had short cans...... about 3 weeks after i got it.

Can you just fit a 3VD CDI too? Or did you need a special custom one?

No videos I suppose? Modern phones work quite well for a quickie [-o<

I took a 3VD coil and wiring harness and am taking it down to TWS wiring specialists in Swindon on the 12th
He's going to link both together and make one big super loom lol. I had a go but complex electrics like that elude me....

I have a few really awful videos of me riding, wheelying, knee down that sorta stuff.

Tell you what, when it's fixed, we''ll go for a ride :)
