Hey Bob

This is way out of left field, and frankly I'm not really sure where u r referring too, :oops: but if it is the same side as the oil filler tube ,you did'nt spill a little oil when u were filling it by any chance?

Nah, Ash its coming from the sump gasket ABOVE the oil tank drain bolt (the one with the copper washer on it) at the back of the motor.
My bandwidth is awful slow at the moment, but I'll try and import a piccie from Photobucket to show you where I mean.

PS how the flying $#@! do you get a screwdriver in to adjust the carb synchronisation screw when balancing the carbs. I had everything apart and off the bike yesterday (in that heat :( ) and all I can see is that you need a VERY small screwdriver or one of those rotary- snakey screwdrivers to gain access to it? Any ideas?

from memory it's not difficult with the airbox off
