Maxxis Supermax Sport on the TRX
I got a pair of these fitted to my bike (£150, ride in, ride out) yesterday in the standard sizes and they're really good. We've just been out for a ride so I could get them scrubbed in and they're good enough for edge-to-edge at the rear in just over 70 miles. I'll definitely use them again when I get round to fitting the YZF rear wheel.

Re: Maxxis Supermax Sport on the TRX
Be interesting to hear how you get on. Heard mixed reports, but general summary seems to be "Good grip, great price, but wear quick and not great in the wet?"
My mate is running them on a gixxer6 and likes them.
BTW you know you'll be junking the 160 rear when you fit the yzf wheel which takes a 180?
..oh and here's a gratuitously sexist piccy with a maxxis connection...

Re: Maxxis Supermax Sport on the TRX
The middle one has got the appearance of a high miler, the one on the right is a touring model and the one on the left seems to be there to flirt with the camera man and to keep the high miler,`bury me in a Y shaped coffin`from swallowing his camera!
If they asked nicely I could be tempted to accept a free set of Maxxis tyres, otherwise they can pose all they like,I would rather ride my bikes.

Yes, the tyres. They seem to grip well but do look like they'll be a bit rubbish in the wet.

Re: Maxxis Supermax Sport on the TRX
yer I actually went thro a couple of sets when i first got my trx about 4 yr ago found i chewed em out after about 4,ooo they started to begin to let go but just didn't perform in the wet and were a cheap alternative... now tho price wise here in Aust they seem a lot more expensive...maybe exchange rate has a lot to do with that... $1aussie was buyin $1 US 3 or 4yr ago...

Apparently the compound they use now is slightly different to the old one. I can't fault them as yet, but I'm only 200-odd miles in and scrubbed right to the edge of the rear (tyre ) If I get 2500 - 3000 miles out of a pair of sticky tyres I'll be happy.

Re: Maxxis Supermax Sport on the TRX
well i put the touring version on the rear of mine few months ago and not done to much in the wet but they gave me more than enough grip when i did and in the dry stuck very well indeed, no idea about front grip as im still using the front sportec m3 which sticks like i cant imagine........
was thinking about putting one of the maxxis in me r1 when ive finished with the bt16 thats on it at the moment as its chewed the crap out of that
