Thanks to ricr378 I now have a yzf swing arm. Apparently ex- Alex. I am quite keen to slap it on and yes possibly an ohlins in the future. I do have a couple of questions and yes I have done a search here as required reading on the subject!


1 Do the bearings from the trx or yzf fit the pivot bolt?
2 Does the stock mono shock fit with no dramas ?
3 how many links in the chain doesn't need. In case I buy a new Gold Chain

Any other advice would be helpful.

3 how many links in the chain doesn't need. In case I buy a new Gold Chain Same as the TRX, You have to split the chain to fit the YZF swinger but you can get a link and reuse your chain

I'm pretty sure the trx and yzf swing arms are the same length from swingarm pivot to rear axle.
You will also find with the larger 5.5" rim, the 180 rear tyre you just fitted on your 5'' trx rim will sit a lot better as it's designed for a rim of that size.

The stock chain-Is it 525 or 520 gauge? Rear calipers should fit straight in but had seen somewhere here blue spot from a 400 cc yamaha?

That's a good working YZF rear there Trixed, did me well, the swing bearings were replaced not long before I bought it apparently, I then regreased them to be sure....shouldn't be too bad my thoughts...and as above, the trx swing pivot bolt goes in...the yzf one is just a bit longer...or so the neighbours cat reckoned.
The rear wheel has new bearings by me too.

You will need the YZF rear caliper carrier because the spindle diameter is greater on the YZF. Caliper itself should fit.

The swing arm is complete with the caliper carrier. am hoping to fit it up this weekend. Thanks all for ur input. Cobba agree with the broader rim. The 180 will fit better but actually is quite assuring even with the 5 inch rim. The m5 are very predictable.

Fitted up the swingarm yesterday. Feels more stable and well planted on the rear. Oh by the way both pivot bearings and the bolt were rusted and the bearing were jammed. Lucky the swingarm had decent bearings so I could finish fitting up. Also funny enough the pivot bolt actually stripped the threads on the nut and the bolt. Metal fatigue?? Glad I pulled it apart as some of the bolts had no grease either and corroded. Managed to put the wheel axle bolt left to right instead of the other way round.
Flipped the Sprocket over and has JT logo and markings facing out. There is a clicking sound from the chain at low speed. Maybe flip again and have a see? Thoughts?
RK Gold Chain is a GXW Ring Racing Chain.The motion pro PBR tool is a magic. A must have for hassle free Pressing, breaking and riveting. Just gotta have the calipers cleaned and refitted. Thanks Alex and Rich for your advice.

Question: Do the TRX thrust bearing cups have steel washers inside? These sit on either side at each bearing sealing water and dirt.
