What fairing fits?

Post by jackpage15 » Wed Jul 10, 2013 5:28 am

Hi there,
I'm new to the TRX scene, but I'm looking at buying one from a colleague. It's got a single seat on at the moment, but I would like to fit a pillion seat.

What (if anything) fits on from other bikes without too much jiggery pokery?
Cheers all :D

Early Fazer 600 seats fit and look pretty good too, or you could go Ducati Monster route with a few mods, even Speed Triple seats have been used.

Welcome.
When you say single seat, is it still the same as the standard TRX seat unit shape just without the pillion seat i.e. a race item?
If so, best bet would be to take it off and put it back to standard with the standard pillion seat, would it not?
Otherwise, anything can be made to fit, but involves rear frame mods.
Nothing is a straight swap.

I'm thinking of doing a 'glass single seat conversion - cost of race glass is not too much more expensive than buying a used one from the wreckers

Thanks for the replies. Trixynut you have a point, I think the stock fairing would be the one to go for generally speaking. The only reason I was considering something else is that I was toying with the idea of going 'streetfighter' and swapping the headlamp unit out for a single headlamp and thought that the big boxy seat might look a bit naff if I did that.

I haven't decided on anything as yet though, as I dont even have the bike yet :D

The Fazer and Monster ideas are a good shout too if I want to bite the bullet and start altering the frame.
