Front Brake Master

Post by Blue Delta » Thu Jun 06, 2013 1:04 am

Hello guys!

With all of the talk about upgrading to the blue spots it has made me think of mine. I have been riding for about a year with them on and are amazed at the increased braking force over the stock calipers, but I have never really understood the "feel" factor and why you go to a 14mm master cylinder until now. With changing the M/C I presume that the R1's run a 14mm M/C...

I guess this would fit?

The std mastercylinder is a larger bore and pushes more fluid. This is how you get the better feel through the correct 14mm master cylinder bore to suit the BLUESPOTS. Look around as you quite often find BLUESPOTS and master for that price and there's always someone who will take the BLUESPOTS off you to recover some costs :!:

Yes simply think of a volume of fluid being pushed along, if the same volume gets pushed through a larger diameter the pressure it`s under will be less.
You could, if you so wish, go for the later RADIAL master cylinders from R1`s / 6`s too which will be an even better braking system when coupled with the blue, silver or gold spots and braided lines. They`ll not come your way as cheap as the earlier master cylinders though.

So are the later r6-r1 radial master cylinder is a better choice whit the non radial r6-r1 calipers than the older 14mm mastecylinter?

Im asking because i have a r1 radial master lying around somwere, but i dint try it on the bike because i read somwhere that it gave a mushy feeling?

Sorry for the poor English :D
