The years that i have been a part of this forum, ive seen a lot of things done, the engines, carbs, tdm 900 motor swaps..a lot of interest to make me want to switch on, now this TRX i bought today has had a Honda Hornet 900 single sided swing arm conversion done...the machine has 70,000 kays up and is a credit to Terry...one of our forum members from the past who hasnt used this bike for over 13 months now...He has had this TRX for over 6 years and has really looked after it well as the motor has no issues apart from a good clean to the carbs....
Not many conversions to the rears have been attempted apart from aprilia,s or my own YZF 750 which is popular in the UK as well,..but this one now that ive had a really good look at...is a really sweet fit up.
See what you think..i tell you ,..its a different look that hasnt been a Botch-- up-- fit up...!
I bought it to break and have a motor in the bargain,..having second thoughts.

Me.. i'd Pull the rear off it and place your stock one back in place ( from your yzf mod on your black TRX)so you then have a nice stock TRX and a modded yzf trx then sell the other rear end to someone who wants something outhere and original as a kit

Well, it looks great in the pic. With no zorst and swing arm the rear looks nice and slender from the side. Me likey

I don't mind that at all. Single siders on bikes that don't usually have them often look too short, but that looks the right length and well thought out. It needs a full-on endurance racer make over though

Looks exactly as many bikes in DE who´s owners has switched to a single VFR swinger...
I´m almost certain of it, hornet 900 never came with a single did it?

Well spotted..KW, i am certain it is a vfr 800 too, testamony to the job not being a home job, and done without the owner knowing where the part came from...or it was done before he bought it.
Apparently the rear yolk hasnt been altered to fit the swing and can be returned back to a stocker.
And, yes..cobb..i am thinking to use the stock rear that i have on my wall.
Polishing it would be cool

Nice one Alex. I saw this one on the Ebay or Gumtree or Bike sales, can't remember. My initial thought was buy this now (as it was local). However reality set in and two facts said stop right there. 1. Money 2. I'm not the most mechanically minded and thought I wouldn't have enough knowledge to know if it was done right or not.

Any way sounds like it's a top job on the conversion so well done mate.

Yes I like that VERY much - 1st dibs on sale please (if that eventuates).... Do we know if it is off a VFR750 or 800? Any differences? This could likely be a future mod that I could be interested in....so jealous I did not see this for sale now

Chain alignment is correct to one milimeter Kev ,using the honda sprocket as well, a 43 tooth rear sprocket with a 147cm measurement from front to rear axle centres..found my YZF 750 set up lacking 30mm...so this SSSA might be a little longer.
Cant see any work done apart from the dog bone link to the swing.
I could sharpen some kitchen knives or cut firewoord with the options of blades that come with this.
