Hi all,
My stock rear shock is shot and I have the opportunity of a 2011R1 shock that has nothing done. I'm about 206 lbs so the R1 should suit my weight. What mods do I have to do to make this fit or is there a better alternative ..

Thanks in advance again guys,

Gereen.

check the forum for a thread on shocks.
One of the Kwaka zx series shocks is the right length and fittings.
Or use a late model R6 shock with a kayla adapter.
Cheers

OK Ive gone through the serch option and found squat that will hepl me... from my understading Yamaha dont make a specific shock for the R1 and the R6 so its logical that they are the same shock with the R1 having a stiffer spring . Im 206 lbs or about 95kgs .
So again Im asking for some help here.... will the R1 shock fit the TRX with the R6 adapter or would the zx10 shock be a better option ??

is the R1 shock the same length as the R6? maybe contact Kayla who produces the adaptors as she may have an idea on the R6 specs of the shock to compare against the R1.

All the R1 shocks I have seen have had an eyelet at the botton rather than a fork
