SIDESTAND SWITCH BYPASS

Planning ahead I can see the sidestand being an issue with clearance with the trackday ahead.. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=811&start=15.
Looking at the plan my thoughts are cutting the s/stand wire on the loom far enough back from the plug into the black box to place a terminal on it and placing that also into the earth loom made up for the TPS mod going to the neg battery terminal.
Sound logical captain Kirk?????

I am pretty sure the TPS wiring modifiation also bypasses the sidestand switch, as well as the ignition full advance and higher rev ceiling functions.
So if you search for the TPS mod, you can probably figure out which bit relates to the sidestand kill switch and then just do that bit of it. Maybe.

Presumably you want to take the side stand off right? take the side stand part off at the pivot bolt going through it leaving the switch in place and put a cable tie round it.

*edit* the sidestand switch works on a plunger that is pushed in when the stand is up, so one or two ties should do the trick, no cutting wires no trouble to put back in place

I think I'd rather bypass it and have no problems period Bit like idicating then not lookin in your mirrors when pullin out of the curb,not checkin the sidestand after starting is like one of numpty devices that I've never triggered in the 7yrs I've owned the bike..

Fair point, well made!
you could also cut the loom at some point and join the side stand wires together, and remove the switch components completly.

In fact the further back you cut the wire the lighter and therefore faster the bike will be!!
