Can someone tell me if a Yamaha R6 03-04 master cylinder with 5/8 printed on it is a 16mm as there is one on ebay that im interested in and need this info to insure im getting the correct m/c .

If you want a TRX one I have a spare 5/8" (15.875, so yes 16mm) master cylinder and lever.

I have done an R1 front end conversion and from the info on the TRX m/c won't give me feel so I was looking for a R1/6 m/c.....
If im wrong please let me know.

I´ve just done the R1 front brake conversion with blue spots from around 2000.
They need the 14mm m/c to work properly.

Yes 14 or 16 mm will work best with bluespots and R1 / 6 M/C`s are 14mm.

2004 R1 Radial M/C is a Brembo forged unit, 16mm, works very well with gold spots

for me, the 14mm is a better match to the bluespots.
i found the 5/8 lever with the blues just too hard, and the 14mm gives me a better 'squeeze' feedback.
both calipers and m/cyl are '04 R6.

Is a radial 16mm equivalent to a 16mm axial M/C?

'Cos I've changed from the TRX M/C, which is 5/8 (~16mm), to a R1 Radial M/C, in 16mm & the difference is huge... Is this just down to Radial action or is the bore x stroke ratio different?

Yes the difference in leverage against the bore and stroke, there`s some science to explain it but I`ll not bother.

Yes thats a radial m/c, should match onto gold spots on radial mounted forks in standard 2008r6 format, should be ok with bluespots as well if thats what you have on the r1 forks you put on.

You might get this one cheaper though, seems like a good price right now, but will no doubt go up a fair bit towards the end.
