hi all, just quick question and much areciated if you can help me.had my trx850 niked last year and found, so the past year been doin it up with new everythin really pics will be avaiable soon! what it is the neutrel light stays on all the time even wen in any gear. and only shows up green wen stand is up. any ideas plz

It`ll likely be the switch, to get to the switch involves removing the final drive sprocket AND the very likely rusty steel plate behind it, after it`s all removed you`ll find the switch in the crankcase (a kind of white plastic appearance) the wire from memory is sky blue I think.
Look at page 68 of 74 on the TRX parts pdf you can find in the forum`s downloads section. The switch part number if it needs to be replaced:

4UN-82540-00

Likely once you remove the switch and give it a good clean / check over it`ll start working again, they often do.
By the way, be careful, there is a sealing O ring behind the switch and if it`s compressed or compromised it won`t seal again so perhaps have another ready to replace it. The part number for the O ring will be found on the parts pdf too.

Ah well I`m guessing you may have nicked the wire then if it`s only just started doing it!

na was doin it from when it was stolen last year, they messed with the wiring ignition ,but ive changed that now and still doin it

Ah well the fault may lie up at the clocks end of the wiring then, the bulb relies on the neutral switch to complete it`s circuit to earth, if a bit of `hot wiring` has attached an earth to the sky blue wire from the switch your bulb will constantly stay on.

if its the clocks end what could i do to rectify it

Trace the sky blue wire to the bulb holder with the lit neutral light. The bulb holder will have a common live supply to one side of it, the sky blue (earth return wire) to it`s opposite side.
So if you can trace that sky blue wire along it`s length up near the clocks before it disappears into the main loom or connector block you might see another wire spliced into it etc.
If you do, disconnect it, it`s likely creating a constant earth.
Alternatively, find the connector close to where the neutral light wire (sky blue) comes up from behind the drive sprocket to under the seat unit and cut it. Then join another wire to it and run that all the way up the bulb holder and cut the sky blue wire close to the bulb holder, again joining your new wire to what`s left.
You will then have eliminated most of the original length of earth return wire and can rule that out as being the problem.
