hi all just a note to let you know i found out by accident more than anything that nitromors is very good at removing anodising thank you

thick and goopy paintstripper, designed for stripping back fence panels, also work on painted bike wheels,tanks,anything metal really, we use it at work. also works on some forms of powder coating. Never use it on plastics lol, burns like buggery if you get it on your skin too. Never knew it worked on anodising though

That makes too of us mate. Seeing as the colour dye is sealed into the pores of the aloominum, didnt think a surface stripper like Nitromors would touch anodise.

Mind you that said, from what it did to the powdercoat on my wheels and a rather thick pair of gaunlets, should have had more faith. Might have to try and get my bluespots to become silverspots!!

Lol Billy, gotta be worth a try if that what you want i'd suggest taking the caps out and doing it away from the nice black finish on the caliper bodys though, mean stuff that nitromorse...

i reckon thats a good shout mate, would be just my luck at the moment to cock the calipers up!!

old post but easier method and way cheaper is to use caustic soda .... a teaspoon per ltr of hot water drop them in and wait till the colour lifts if it dont shift it up the amount of caustic ..... do not leave them in too long or the caustic will attack the aluminium and turn it black
