sanddune51 wrote:A mismatch between the exhaust port and the header tube is no bad thing at all. As long as the header has a larger bore than the port. It's better if the lower part of the port is a few mm higher than the exhaust header. It can be beneficial in hindering flow reversion. The short side of the port flows less gas and with longer duration cams the increased valve overlap can lead to flow trying to return back in to the cylinder. The long radius of the port and pipe does not suffer from this flow reversion and should be matched to provide a smooth transition.

On the (short or tight) radius of the exhaust port the flow tries to eddy and fold back under itself,a little like waves on the beach curling under themselves as they break. During the period when both inlet and exhaust valves are open the depression in the cylinder on the induction stroke tries to pull in spent exhaust gases. This is when flow can stall and then reverse. The inlet charge can end up with a degree of exhaust contamination. A mismatched step at the port to header face can serve to prevent this happening. A correctly designed mismatch can be power for free.

Yeah but it doesn´t as it´s 38mm.

Would have liked spring lugs for the exhaust can as well.
You didn't say you needed them!

Would it be an idea to have them put on every system from now on, just in case?

Just because you're breathing, it doesn't mean you're alive.

Nah, should be an option me thinks. When ordered the MTC can they had both options and as the akra has lugs i opted for that.
No biggie to ask someone to tack on some, the important this is that it´s not puffing out where it shouldn´t 8)

Was out hooning around for 45 min, to hard to separate this one from Akra. But i think i´ve got the effect i wanted. Power went down lower but the dyno will tell. One nice thing though, i have "winder´s" breather on now and bike for sure revs to red faster.
Will fix one more breather...
Another input when i have cut out a bit on the downpipes so gasflow won´t hit the pipe.

All you need is one of these, M14 x 1.5 to AN8 coupling that will screw into the hole the top plug in the alternator casing fits in:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/8-AN8-08-M14x ... 230df5d527

Once you have an AN8 tapered coupling end you can connect hoses, right angled adaptors etc:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=A ... m270.l1313

You could run a hose up to the larger diameter hose from the cam cover and join into it with a tee piece or simply utilise a push in filter.

Yep M14 x 1.5 hollow banjo bolt and banjo to pipe ferrule works too of course:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/14MM-FUEL-OIL ... 33581313dc

Mind, It `ll carry less air being a tad more restrictive due to the design of a banjo.

Heel heatshield under construction by Kayla as i melted a chunk off my raceboot (pipe really close to peg, at least for us using tip toe style)

sounds interesting that heel guard, as my 2-1 is also close as I ride with the ball of my foot on the peg too.
i also have rearset plates by Kayla which are 25mm up and 25mm back.
