Re: Big bore headers available soon
this is interesting,
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1999-Yamaha- ... 1a05d5b6e7
The exhasut system on it, which he says is a full Yoshi system, actually seem to be stock headers with a modified collector piece and a Yoshi can. Looks quite nicely done.
Anyone else seen this? Given Akro 2 into 1 systems and rare as rocking horse shit and Kayla's are quicite pricey with the exchange rate and shipping I have thought about something like this, but have not done any serious investigation

Yes Paul, the header collars give away the oem rex headers.
Nice n low Kay's too provided it can be proven not once around already.
Going into a two into one which is a lot lighter,..obv, than a twin sys and my own thoughts to free up the look of the rear as well.
Mind a two into one with an end can would have to be worth around 8-900.
With the AUD being lower now, a locally built 2-1 with larger header pipes would be the go especially with a set of fcrs.
My own projection 2-1 sys runs really well with a titanium akrapovic end can too.

Pretty dodgey really when you look at the collector.
Exhaust systems are an exacting art with the physics behind it all to deal with the physical pulse of hot air and the reflective sonic pulse and phasing nature all having to play on the scavanging nature of the system.
The length, diameters and how the system physically collects all determine the tuned nature of your exhaust.
This comes into play along the whole length of the exhaust including the shape of the outlet.

Re: Big bore headers available soon
this is why you need to create detailed CAD copies of your Akro system which we can then use to get replicas manufactured

Yes unfortunately I've only drawn up templates by tracing around the Akra , Over and Nojima systems on butchers paper.
I Noted the I.Ds of the pipes and lengths and various other dimensions to give an overall shape and size of each system but the fundimentals including shapes of curves and positions of bends etc are all there full size on paper .
A poorly designed exhaust can trap heat and rob you of vital scavenging.
That vacuum when the exhaust is sucking fuel into the motor through the overlap period will be more dense if the exhaust has dissipated as much heat as possible. Just like in the combustion chamber itself.

Give them to me Cobba and I'll model them all in 3D and do 2D fully dimensioned drawings for you.

Cool bananas,
I've got them all rolled up in the garage.
I'll tidy up and comprise the dimensions on a separate sheet for each
To make things a little easier.
I'll be mobile again in 3 mths so when on 2 wheels I'll ride around ..
