Went to change the rear sprocket today and found that my TRX that was supposed to have a yzf 750 rear end conversion well not quite I think this must be the standard trx wheel and spinde. so has any one got a good yzf 750 rear wheel with spindle and spacers for sale.

You could have some alloy collars made up to fit the diameter through the swingarm, perhaps Kayla could help in that respect?

Bloody hell You'd be better off re-fitting a TRX arm to be honest, but take a good look at any spacers that've been used- they shouldn't be as loose on the spindle as the one in the pic.

edit- has the person who fitted the arm also stuck a 180 on the standard rim?

Yes he sure has, not a happy bunny, spent over 800 quid so far trying to sort out this bike and its still not sorted.

I would have thought that a rear end built that badly out of bits that don't suit is not 'fit for purpose' and dangerous. Whoever did this must have known and I think it's a poor show.

Thats the one, only done 50 miles on it and includes pushing it 3 miles.

Bloody hell .......... thats bad news ........ but once you get it sorted itll be a cracking bike and youll know it inside out .......... chin up

cheers zednine, bought oldracers spare motor had it stripped and rebuilt new rings/cam chain/ valve stem oil seals/ bearings and gaskets using genuine yamaha parts by a top local mechanic. Just hope to get it sorted before summer ends.

Hi John. Sorry to see that you have had yet more problems with your TRX, after looking at the picture of the rear wheel spindle i would recommend that you check the rest of the running gear (mono shock linkage, yokes, calipers, front wheel etc) . It appears to me from your previous problems that the standard of effort put into the bike has been piss poor, pm or phone me if you need any help. TZX

Cheers tzx, think you are being kind with the words piss poor, gonna start at the front and work my way through the whole bike and see what more surprises it throws up and keep you posted.

Is that a NWS swingarm you got in there John? Maybe one of two or three ever made! Get a YZF750 wheel in there if you want to keep the 180 fitment.
Alternatively as Kayla said go back the way to a TRX swingarm and sell the NWS swingarm, it`ll make good money.
You can still go down the 170 / 60 /17 route on the stock TRX rim.

Obviously you`ll need the spindle, spacers and rear brake caliper bracket / mounting too, or modify the TRX one to suit.

Hi MH sorry but its just a standard yzf swinger, got a spindle on tuesday no space or out. my money pot is a bit low at the mo. having spent few quid getting the motor sorted which now sounds like a completey different bike it runs as sweet as. not in a hurry anymore, gonna do a proper job well try anyways. Regarding the rear wheel on ebay I emailed them on tuesday regarding a part number just so i don't buy the wrong one and they have not got back to me yet. keep you posted

Hi, John When I put a yzf750 rear on mine last year I unwittingly bought a wheel that was buckled or warped. I just bought a replacement as I assumed it would be cheaper and easier than a repair. The wheel showed evidence of being difficult to balance and was so out that I deemed it too bad to use.

If you know how or where to repair it you can have it for the postage. I repeat that I don't consider it safe or usable as it stands.

Cheers andyaber but think i have the wheel sorted, any chance of a photo of your rear end conversion and how did you space it

At the wheel spindle I used std yzf750 spacers if I remember correctly and used the yzf caliper mount and trx caliper. Turn your rear sprocket around so recessed side is against the carrier to line up with front sprocket.

Judging by the std of work by the previous owner it may be worth checking the other end of the swing arm is fitted correctly as there are 2 spacers on the yzf not used on the trx. These are thick washers fitted inside the dust caps over the swing arm bearings. Just check it fills the full wdth between the mounting plates and no play or gaps.
