I agree with what you say about dyno figure outputs, it is just a number, but it's how you get to that number that is important...

Every dyno graph i have seen so far, with this bike has been pretty much what i want, a very straight line for HP from go to whoa, and a big fat lump off torque from low down, and continueing right through the midrange...

I have resisted flatside carbies, as i know they have a reputation for being a little cantikorous, and are better suited to track bike's, because of their, on, off nature, regarding throttle opening's...

It`s a fallacy actually, they are not so much ON / OFF as folk like to say, they are a more direct form of throttle control that`s all.
You `learn` how to ride with them and believe me they make a huge difference to a TRX with or without other engine tuning.

Yeah, it's more the money, more than anything....i have poured a shitload of cash in already!

Anyway, we will see what happens after the Stage 3 Dynojet kit is put to use, and the airfilter below, is pressed into action...and the bike goes back on the dyno for further tuning.

Also, some photo's of my restored front fairing, including restored OEM mirrors, fasteners, etc, Restored OEM indicators (with clear lenses and orange globes), the new solid black race screen, re-painted OEM screen mounting bolts, and new decals....not quite OEM, but close enough, and tasteful IMHO.

Am very happy with the front fairing, it all looks brand new, and fitted up as it should, in about 10 minutes....all OEM fasteners, looks the business IMHO!

nothing happened today, except getting a new clutch return spring that was not stretched, and reaching 100hp on the dyno....looking for 105 on monday...., looking to build a bike that hunts Ducati 916's, when they least expect it.... in the tight stuff.....

Yes, and on a decent Dyno, that i have comparison dyno reads for other bikes, from another accurate dyno.

At this point, we are thinking the bike will end up with something around the 105hp mark, at the rear wheel...

We should know by the middle of next week...

No more tuning yet, Stage 3 Dynojet kit is not being used now, now going with the Factory Pro Carbie kit, with the replacement plated Emulsion tubes...just waiting for it to land in Oz, from the States...hopefully in the next day or so.

Then it's tune time!

Well, some SA TRX riders! I ride lots, especially up in the hills....not a fan of straight roads, commuting, or riding in the rain, when you dont have to...but give me a half decent day, no kids, and i am out there...

If i thought i was going to get the bike back this week....i would go for a shakedown ride or two (Or six!), over the weekend...

I met a guy at Cudlee creek, a couple of weekends ago, with a Blue TRX fighter...neat as a pin! And i have met a guy at Lobethal a couple of times recently, who rides a TRX, and who told me that he was on this forum??? Scruffy looking 40 something guy, not unlike myself..

I will send you a PM to swap numbers to make it easier to sort a ride via text...

As you could imagine, i am tongueing to ride the thing!!!

As for the Ceramic Coating...go see Laurie at Pacemaker Exhaust / Ceramic Coating Australia, down at Richmond...just near the indoor Kart Track...Laurie is a good guy, rides, and charges $225 to get a set of headers, and link pipe, ceramic coated, inside and out...i think it's about $175 to get just the outside done...if catalytic convertors are present. 2 colour choices, silver, or black.

Well, i find out today, it's a $1200 question, will the FCR's make that much difference HP wise, etc, on this bike, to make them worth the "Entry Price"???

That is for the full kit, not just the carbies....it's a lot of coin, on top of a lot of coin already spent...

Especially considering the OEM carb's have just been overhauled, and given a carbie kit....and the bike is alreadt pulling big numbers on the dyno!

Yeah, but will it be worth 10hp on a bike that already has modified carbies that will obviously work better with the Factory Pro kit, including replacement emulsion tubes???
