well there's no going back now.

Popped down to York to pick this little lot up.

It looks like quite a large pile of stuff, but in many ways its more compact that the trx engine. its not as deep front to back by about 30mm, and its not as tall either. Means I should be able to make brackets up for it to fit.

Crucially though its just a fraction too wide at the cylinder head for it to fit between the lower frame tubes. Once I have got this last trackday out the way I will strip the bike back and see how it offers up. I am not totally confident with 'dressing the insides of the frame tube to clearance it. I may have to make a new bottom tube up on one side.

After specifcally asking for a none abs mt09 I now have a full setup for a yamaha tracer, which comes with ABS and traction control. neither of which I want. I am going to see if I can get it flash written out of the ecu.

other than that all good though, the engine is relatively unmarked and has 6600 miles on it.

If you choose to modify the frame and chop and weld in a new bottom rail to mount it, Get a measurement parallel from the LHS engine mount position on the head to the drive sprocket centre.
Do the same on a trx motor as the 40mm offset you need to fit into the frame can work to an advantage on sprocket alignment on which bottom rail to replace.

yes cobba, the drive sprocket will govern where the engine sits in the frame.

Mince if you can get me an mt09 engine setup like that for 500 quid I'll have 3 of them please!

My mate lunched his MT10 engine, reckons he got a used replacement engine for £1500, which I thought was good value - course he could have been lying

Good one. Consistent lines!
Only using 3 gears (apart from moving off)? Have you considered downgearing it and using the upper ratios which are closer spaced? #just thinkin'
