I oil my chain on a weekly basis ,usually after a ride and if i don't clean off the excess it drips onto the exhaust and burns itself in. After cleaning the baked on crap off i noticed that the chain has been running against the exhaust and has nearly worn through

Over exhaust system
I've been a bit slack with my detailing on the bike lately
. Handsomejack shamed me into doing something about it.

Obviously i've been slack on my adjustments too. So i took the system off and took it down to my local repairer and they tigged up the gouge and put a flat area into the chain run giving more clearance. Even with the chain tensioned correctly you only get a 10-15 mm gap with these systems, now i've got like 25mm
They also took a crease out of the right hand tube from when i dropped the trackbike at Queensland raceway. All in all very happy with the work. Polished them up in my shed and refitted . All Good. Was weird running the standard headers and original cans for a couple of weeks. The carbs were twice as load as the exhaust note

Nice! I´ve also left my exhaust...akra 2-1 to a local shop. Full peen blast inside/outside and then black matt heat coating (powder) all for 50£. Feels like a great deal!Kevtrx849 wrote:I've been a bit slack with my detailing on the bike lately. Handsomejack shamed me into doing something about it.

I've been thinking about having it done but have heard mixed reviews on the finish and what it looks like after a few rides

They´ve done a lot of ´em with really good results...i guess you will need to know what they use. Gonna try remember when leaving my second swinger there...

Very nice killer, saves having to polish them all the time. Mine have already gone gold after just one short run.

Re: Over exhaust system
That one IS a replica (stainless), can be bought in Holland....real over pipes are titanium (bigger bore) and the only one i know who managed to get hold of one of those is Peder here in Sweden.drix wrote:Oh I so wish I had an Over system... can replicas be found/made for such a thing?

Re: Over exhaust system
The only place I've seen one for sale is on jauce.com, I think they only wanted 2 legs and an arm for it too. (plus shipping)

My Over system has been soft blasted to `resemble` titatinium in finish.
