4UN CDi

Hi all,
Just won a 4UN CDi unit on ebay for £10 and I wondered is it a straight swap for the restricted import version (4NX or something like). I seem to recall that it clears the rev restriction but do I need to do any more mods before firing it up? I have a Euro kph speedo I believe, as there is no hole in it for the wires to a restrictor and a bit of electronics taped up behind the fairing which I guess is the restrictor unit (my TRX tops out at 7000rpm in all gears) - sorry if this has been done before.

this is interesting for me as i have an inport but i also have the uk cdi unit sat it a box never used.
now i have never had the revs top out on me at all????
so how will i know if putting in the uk cdi will make any difference???

Has it got an M-Max or similar box fitted? If not; will it go past 115MPH in top gear?

sorry to sound dumb (but i just ride it then fix it) what is and where is a M-Max or similar box fitted????

P.s. i do reacall going past 120mph from time to time.!

M-Max make derestriction boxes (that fit in line between speedo and CDi, behind the clocks) But you won't need one if you've got a 4UN CDi....

my 95 import would only rev to 7000 in any gear because someone had removed the restrictor from the speedo and taped it up behind the fairing. I have left this alone (I have no derestrictor fitted) and just fitted the 4UN, takes about 2 minutes if you don't drop one of the fixing screws into the the battery compartment ! Then it revs to the red no bother.
