Hey guys, I'm just in the process of building my TRX up after being written off by yet another female driver (as opposed to the few good female drivers out there) so I am looking for some inspiration for some mods/upgrades that I coud perform (or get performed) on a tight budget.

I have already got the blue-spot calipers to fit to the front and a 748 biposto seat that I am fitting myself, but I want this bike too stand out for all the RIGHT reasons, not because it looks or goes funny...

Hope you can help out.

you could try a new master cylinder aswell.. Theres a few options. The R1, but theres also a nice clean looking one, forgotten which one it is, someone here posted it a while back.. either way.

Bar risers for comfort if thats your thing. Possibly some rearsets for comfort aswell. Then the usual FCR carbies, exhaust and cam upgrade. But you start going into quite a few dollars for those.

Define your budget?

The fact you are looking at fitting a complete new rearend (requiring new lights, cutting. welding and paint) suggests this ain't exactly a tight budget?

What do you want to achieve?

Budget is fairly tight....in the process of getting married so i mean "tight." Rear-end is coming on the cheap - shouldn't cost much more than $400 painted and fitted (doing much of the work myself) as I've been doing alot of shopping around - bike been off the road since January.

Rearsets are an option, but trying to find reasonably priced ones has been difficult - any ideas/sggestions? FCR carbies?? More info please

Rearsets (new) costs a fair amount of money, as so for FCR's.

We can provide you with some ideas/suggestions, but don't you want to create your own bike, within your own budget?

Ps. I should stick to (a small budget); - braided lines, other calipers (you have already), bar risers, other headlight, own made dash, other indicators, clear (LED) rearlight, spraying the engine, frame and fairing, wheels, K&N filter, stage 1 Dyno, other cans, .....etc. etc.

Upgrade the forks with some Racetech emulators and possibly some new springs for your riding weight? Seeing as you can weld, you could upgrade the forks fairly cheaply doing the brazing yourself, you just need to buy the parts. And as mentioned, R1/R6 mc and some braided lines.

Improving the front forks is definitely something that I would like to do. Is there any more information that you could provide on this mod? I'm around 6'1"-6'2" and weigh around 85-90kg. I have found this article on the net and was thinking along these lines, but I don't really know which would provide better results vs. price. Thanks for the ideas so far guys.

I didn't try changing oil weight prior to the gold valve install so can't comment, but there are a few here that have. The Racetech site has a calculator for choosing spring weight on this page. And there is a good article with pics on how do do the fork mods yourself on the Yahoo TRX group. When I had my forks polished and serviced, the suspension workshop increased the air gap to 150mm and used a 15w oil, which I have found to be a very plush ride, as it really soaks up the bumps. They said a 20w oil would give it a more "sporty" feel, which I may try at a later date. Mind you I have the emulators fitted. Changing fork oil isn't difficult and fork oil isn't that expensive so why not give that a go first?

Hagon progressive fork springs (£65 delivered inc oil) make a helluva difference
