browse around and have a look at the TR1X.. Should give you a fairly good idea of how far you can go if you really want to.

for forks have a look on the us ebay.com rather than ebay.co.uk.
Things are so much cheaper over there even when you add shipping costs.

a few words of advice

USD front end is expensive when you factor in what you need - basically a complete front end (and a new set of clocks / speedo for R1 front end). Don't expect much change from £500. You'll need to find someone to press out the TRX stem from the yokes and into R1 / YZF yokes

Rear end - NOTHING bolts straight on and you will have to cut the subframe

YZF rear end - waste of time and money (and ever fecker has got one)

Well, just my thought on the YZF rear....
Market for used 180 race tyre is very good in Sweden, you can get a lot of rubber wich done 15 min qualifier for around 50€ only used at the very edge....and i´m down there very seldom so...i think it´s worth it if you can get a good deal/DIY...

why don't you ride it first, then decide IF it needs anything?

apart from front fork springs for the more manly built riders amongst us, the rest of the bike is pretty good as standard.

Luckily mine are....
The rear is from a CBR1k but actually molded into the original one so standard seat catch etc. is fully operational....
Headlight Yam mt03
Bimota top yoke
Fork + swingarm Aprilia mille R
R6 Oz racing wheels
ZX10R rearsets

....but you would OF COURCE want to choose your own parts and not copy another bike....then you can buy it fully built instead.
There´s a SF ER-6 over here with a turbo wich won a lot of awards.....go turbo/S/ch on the TRX and be different! :)

I agree with Martin, unless you ride the thing for a few thousand miles and get a feel for it you won't know what 'needs' changing.

The more I ride mine the more I get into it, I think, on the road, a set of tyres with a better profile and i'll be more or less sorted. Save your money or buy a set of better carbs in a few months time.

the forks on it are fooked internally and and pretty beat up on the outside and as im gona street fighter style the bike I want USD front forks, so ive read the how to conversion and the yzf750 swap sounds the easiest
