front fork upgrade r6 ???

Post by BOB.T » Sat Apr 26, 2008 6:21 pm

HI all ive got the opportunity of getting a set of r6 forks with wheel attatched am i right in thinking that they will
slide straight into the lower / upper head stocks without any major work ` i have the blue pot callipers on the standard forks and hope that the r6 forks will help with the handling. :dontknow:

not sure what you mean by upper/lower headstocks??????

If you mean yokes, then the answer is no.

TRX forks are 41mm, R6 are 43mm.

also the fact they are a touch wider on centres aswell.

You CAN press out the stork / steering stem on the bottom yoke on the R6 / TRX, and swap them over, press them back in. You will need to make an adaptor washer so the lock nut tightens up properly.

Search the forums, this has been covered more times than ive had hot dinners.
