Can anyone tell me exhaust open BBDC degrees and exhaust close ATDC degrees please . It's to do with determining pipe lengths and sizes . Should be starting the pipe plumbing this week if all goes to plan

Quick up date . Fitted a test exhaust and took the bike for a run . Power felt OK , didn't rev it past 5 grand because I was in town and sound was only slightly louder than the over cans . At this stage I'm happy with the result and have kept the twin sound over a 2 into 1 sound. The exhaust goes 2 into 1 into 2 and back to a single outlet .How confusing is that , I need to draw the internals to show it . I have pics to post , I'm waitng for photoshop to finish its maintenance

The muffler will be done from stainless probably the hardest part will be making it so it can be opened up to repack when needed , if we keep the same dimensions access to the oil filter will be retained so far so good . The only down side is the bloke doing the job fits it in between his main daily work so it could take a month to see

Bob, i use fine stainless mesh ( fly screen ) around the perforated tube and fibreglass matting for the packing. The stainless mesh prevents the glass from blowing out so you shouldn't have to repack very often if at all. Just don't pack it too tight. Too tight will make it louder, looser allows the glass to absorb some db's .Can't wait to see/hear the end result.

In Aussieland noise seems not to be an issue at all!
Seen that "silencer" I'm tempted to ask, why then have any at all.
Ok, you can route the header straight through it, and put on coffee in the muffler on a rest

Got the bike back today from the exhaust boys and I'm happy with the look . Won't know how loud it is until a get some one to take it for a spin down the road . riding it home it wasn't as loud as I thought it would be and until I rev it out I won't know the power difference . It's made so I can remove and replace with the over cans for track days etc and it has made the exhaust can hanger bolts available for me to fit a rack system to carry more than 1 pair of jocks + socks to the next GP . Next job is refit the rear wave disc , radiator over-fill bottle and maybe a repaint

Mate, that looks awesome! It certainly opens up some style options. Well done to you and the man with the magic hands.
