Just having a look at getting some pod filters. Are the 85-3000 adapters the only ones that fit the TRX? What length filter will fit under the tank without the air box?

I believe the filters for stock carbs are:

Flange: 55-59mm
Form: cylindric
Length: 102mm

Kedo part number is 91394. Price 78.50 euro for the pair plus post.

I wouldn't recommend the use of pod filters on the stock CV carbs.

CV carbs like still air.

I'm not saying it will be a disaister but you may experience running problems at high speed and / or in high winds. You only have to think of the problems encounteretd by some people who have drilled holes in the airbox.

Also, a word of advice. If you do junk teh airbox, buy another filter to go over the end of the crank breather.

phuk, been thinking of that a bit...
The crank breather hose is also an oil out if something goes wrong isn´t it....and what happens if you stick a filter directly on there....?

Wouldn´t it be better to have an oil catch tank and then an air filter (like Max had on the 4hr run?

Super Ten had this. You can do it. Makes no odds apart from mess if it blows oil out. And makes an extra 1 - 2 bhp when it's not restricted by the airbox.

The filter just stops vapour spraying onto your nice clean engine and stops the breather hosing oil onto your wheel in the event of a mishap.

And yes, an oil catch tank would be / is a better solution (but I can't be arsed!)
