Just won myself a very nice example of a yzf750 swingarm off everyones favourite auction site, which will be my winter project as theres miles to be done this year.

Anyhow, it didnt come with the swingarm pivot bolt so im assuming it will be the same as the trx. If anyone has done this mod and this is not the case then your imput is welcome please.

Also ive noticed that the threaded bolt/rod and nuts used for chain adjustment are missing from the arm but it does have the adjuster blocks.
Now again could the trx's gubbings be used in lieu or would i need the yzf750 ones? If this is the case where in gods holy green and blue world does one buy such a thing??

chain adjuster bolts and nuts are M8 and long mate - nowt special.

Hey philk, as yet ive not done anymore with it due to probs with my new OVER exhaust system!!

Got meself all the parts that i require but all i need is a tyre to go on the yzf1000 wheel i got off ebay, thing that bugs me is the spanking new bt020 i put on the rex wheel recently isnt even run in yet!!
Money is abit tight at the mo due to holidays etc, so would that tyre fit onto the yzf1000 wheel?? Rim size is only half inch difference, i know the big thing is to go from a 160 to a 180 tyre but thought if its possible to do i could do that next time round.

I may be wrong here, and somebody plese tell me if I am, but I would think that stretching the tire over a wider rim, would change the profile of it and tend to flatten the tire out in the middle doing dodgy things to your handling.

My thoughts exactly young man, i know all the ins and outs of it but i like to get a second opinion to finally silence the little voices that forever plague my thoughts!!

Don't put a 160 off a 5 inch rim on a 5.5 inch rim intended to take a 180: it will knacker the profile but more importantly be dangerous.

Fitting a 170 on a 5 inch rim can be done (although I wouldn't) but not a smaller tyre on a bigger rim.

I've just hunted round for a new rear, after finding mine flat as a witches tit due to a nail, and found Infinity to be the cheapest, but there's loads of cheap quality tyres on t'internet.

170 tyre is recommended for the TRX by dunlop (qualifiers), i guess it would be quite safe then!?

I just finished my last Avon in 170 size and never had a problem with them. Mich next.

Just having a gander at a tyre for my thunderace wheel for the yzf750 arm and wondered if anybody knows the tyre size off hand please??

The one i think it is as im wanting a bridgestone bt020 is 180/55 zr17, does that sound right?

Also never having done this mod before, when i get a chain and sprockets for it do i by the full set for the trx or do i need a thunderace rear sprocket and trx front?? Dont know if the trx sprockets fit the ace wheel or not. Any recommendations on chain brands to buy and size/style required will be greatly appreciated.
