I'm sure I saw a thread about a year ago with someone who had done a blue-spot (the YZF-600 / R6 / R1 Sumitomo caliper) conversion for the rear, involving said caliper and a spacer for the OEM bracket. Tried searches and didn't come up with anything. Can anyone point me to any info on this mod?

No it doesn't bolt straight on

I have a turned down R1 carrier on mine with a bespoke torque arm (standard one is ugly)

you got a pic phuk, I have one but have not fitted it yet, got it and the bracket with the bike along with the front calipers

i run a 2000 R1 rear caliper, and i honestly prefer the TRX over this one. I personally like the feel and the grab..
Saying that, the R1 is ment to feel a bit like wood, its ment to load up the rear, not do your braking with it.. its for trailing.. I dont like having to push hard to load the back up while on the track, i prefer more feel from the stock unit.

Everyone is different on this subject. But goodluck with it. If you DO get the "wood" feeling and want more control (at the cost of having a fair bit of bite, if your not used to it, it can be daunting) try slightly shorter and braided line in, puts more bite in it.. Also try new disks (if you can afford them) which can increase braking.

thanks to both of you, thats what I wanted to see phuk the little bracket welded on to take the torque arm the back brake is fine it has braided hoses on and is strong locks up the rear nice but the callipers tend to stick a bit umm maybe leave it for now its just I have the bits lying around and was wondering what was involved thanks lads
